Massar Egbari
Published on: Woensdag 18 mei 2011The Egyptian band Massar Egbari, featured in the film Microphone, has been invited to the Netherlands by Cinéma Arabe for a series of performances. Massar Egbari is one of the most important exponents of the current Egyptian underground scene. Combining rock, jazz and blues with Middle Eastern rhythms, they have developed their very own characteristic sound with a local as well as global feel to it.

Debate: Arab Spring

What does democracy mean to ordinary citizens in Arab countries? Which role should Europe play in this process? And what does it all mean in relation to the development of the arts?

Debate: Family Matters
