The Egyptian band Massar Egbari have been invited especially by Cinéma Arabe to perform at the festival. They will give two concerts and a workshop – for the first time in the Netherlands. Massar Egbari play an important part in the Egyptian underground arts scene and feature in the film Microphone.The concerts will take place in combination with a screening of the film Microphone.

Friday the 3rd of June in Utrecht @ ‘t Hoogt
19.30hrs: screening of Microphone
22.00 hrs: concert Massar Egbari

Saturday the 4th of June in Amsterdam @ Podium Mozaïek
21.00hrs: concert Massar Egbari
23.00hrs: screening of MicrophoneThe concert at Podium Mozaïek marks the conclusion of Cinéma Arabe in Amsterdam. In other cities, the festival will still go on for a few days.

Massar Egbari will also give a workshop ‘East Meets West’ in collaboration with the Dutch-Moroccan band Kasba. The workshop will take place on Thursday the 2nd of June (12-17 hrs), at Talent Factory De Valk in Amsterdam Noord.
